Floydada police
investigating death
The Floydada Police Department on Wednesday announced it is still investigating a disturbance Tuesday that resulted in a person’s death.
The department did not release any other details, stating the investigation is ongoing.
“Details will be released at the appropriate time in order to protect the integrity of the case,” according to a post on the department’s Facebook page.

Lubbock police are searching for three men for their possible involvement in a drive-by shooting in West Lubbock on Wednesday afternoon.
At 7 p.m., police were notified by dispatch after approximately six shots were fired in the 5300 block of 13th Street and a gray vehicle was seen fleeing westbound.
Unable to locate the vehicle, the responding officer reported he spoke with a resident at the scene.
The police report states no injuries were reported and damage was limited to property.

Life can change in an instant, according to retired Lubbock police Officer Jacob Flores and Lubbock County sheriff’s Deputy Ryan Burns.

A suspect is charged with aggravated assault following a South Lubbock bar fight Saturday night.
Lubbock say the man assaulted another man about 10:20 p.m. at Buffalo Wild Wings at 82nd Street and University Avenue. He was taken to jail.

With school back in session Monday for most Lubbock schools, area law enforcement agencies want to remind the public to remain aware and exercise caution when driving through school zones.
Lubbock Independent School District Police Chief Jody Scifres said the biggest issue for motorists transitioning from summer driving is active school zones, which often have a reduced speed of 20 mph.
“The school zone (signs) are going to be turned on on Monday,” Scrifes said.
