Lubbock police arrested a man they say threatened and assaulted two off-duty officers while possibly intoxicated at University Medical Center on Tuesday night.
At 10:40 p.m., officials say, 26-year-old Ren Allen was initially brought to the UMC emergency room by a family member for medical issues from imbibing alcohol and possibly other unknown substances.
Seeking help, Allen’s family member contacted off-duty officers who were working as security at the hospital.
Police say man falls out of moving truck
A 59-year-old Hispanic man was airlifted to University Medical Center on Tuesday morning after falling out of his moving vehicle in a residential area of Seminole.
At 12:30 a.m., police responded to the 500 block of southwest Avenue L for a one-vehicle crash.
Seminole Police Chief Bernie Kraft said investigators determined the man fell out of his truck while trying to avoid hitting parked vehicles.

A cash reward is being offered for information on the disappearance of 67-year-old Linda Gail Wilhite as Lubbock police on Friday announced they’re now focusing on recovery efforts for the woman reported missing Aug. 18.
“Due to the circumstances surrounding the case, we believe that Ms. Wilhite may have sustained serious injury,” according to a statement from Lubbock police Lt. Ray Mendoza.
Woman injured in 1-vehicle crash
A 27-year-old woman was injured in a one-vehicle crash Friday morning in West Lubbock, according to a Texas Department of Public Safety news release.
At 10:45 a.m., officials say, first responders arrived on scene following the crash on Texas 114 east of FM 2378.
The incident occurred as driver Beverly Rodriquez was traveling east on Texas 114 when she veered to the right of the road in her 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup and crashed into a road sign.
